Abstract:

This report provides an overview of toxicity testing methods useful for determining the impact of hazardous waste disposal sites on aquatic organisms and marine resources. These methods can be used in developing the information required by the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act CERCLA during the remedial investigation and feasibility study RIFS process. During the RIFS process, data and information must be obtained to determine the nature and extent of hazardous waste impact to the environment. Methods described here will provide a basis for developing work plans and sampling protocols designed to address if and how coastal hazardous waste disposal sites impact aquatic resources.
