Abstract:

This concept of operations is one of many high level documents that will, in total, describe the operations of the National Airspace System NAS when the NAS Plan has been implemented, i,e., the end state. These documents as a set will assist in linking the requirements specified in NAS System Requirements Specification NASSRS with the NAS design. One of the functions of the NAS is to support approach and departure sequencing at specific airports. The objective of this document is to describe the relationship among subsystems, facilities, information, and operatorsusers involved in the approach and departure sequencing function. This document is intended as a tool for system designers, analysts, and test planners. The document contains several types of block diagrams illustrating system connectivity, and operational flow. These diagrams in conjunction with the text are intended to provide perspective and insight into the NAS Approach and Departure Sequencing function.
