This study examined the potential cost savings of implementing programs to reduce the incidence of lower extremity stress fractures in basic training. The author predicted a potential cost savings of over one million dollar annually based on a 60 reduction in incidence of stress fractures. The author proposes a program to implement that should achieve a 60 reduction in the incidence of stress fractures.
