The kinetics of isothermal crystallization of two polyphosphazene polymers, polybistrifluoroethoxyphosphazene and polybisphenylphenoxyphosphazene, have been studied utilizing a modified differential scanning calorimeter DSC technique and the depolarized light intensity DLI technique. The kinetics of transformation of both and isotropic to 2-D pseudohexagonal mesophase as well as the mesophase to 3-D orthorhombic phases have been measured and analyzed using Avrami theory. Classical nucleation theory has been utilized for estimating values of the surface free energies of the nuclei during crystallization. Keywords Phenyl radicals. MJM
