Abstract:

The jackknife estimator of the asymptotic variance of a two sample linear rank statistic is shown to be strongly consistent. Statistical applications of the result are discussed. The technique used in proving the consistency of the jackknife variance estimator can be applied to general situations. Keywords Strong consistency Linear rank test.
