This General Accounting Office briefing report responds to a Senate Subcommittee request that GAO review the proposed Public Health Service fiscal year 1989 budget for acquired immunodeficiency syndrome AIDS activities. GAO explores both the adequacy of the proposed funding levels and the appropriateness of the proposed allocation of funds among these activities.
