It is useful to have simple cross sections to represent the interactions between particles when performing transport theory calculations for range, energy deposition, and damage by impinging ions on bulk materials. In this report I present a number of families of finite range interactions that are simple to generate during such transport calculations. These cross sections have a Thomas-Fermi character at large energy transfers and a wide variation of behavior for small energy transfers. The potentials that correspond to these cross sections are displayed graphically, so that if one has a phenomenologically derived potential between two constituents, one can read off the graphs which family member will give a good representation of that interaction.
