Abstract:
This report describes state-of-the-art techniques for the measurement of hydrodynamic and hydroacoustic phenomena in high-Reynolds number liquid flows. Emphasis is on water tunnel testing. Topics covered include test facility operations, boundary layers, multiphase fluid flows, body forces and moments, acoustics, and internal flows. This report will be published as a chapter in the book Lecture Notes in Engineering - Advances in Fluid Mechanics Measurements, M. Gad-el-Hak, ed. Springer-Verlag, 1988.
