Abstract:
Progress is reviewed for a research program whose purpose is to establish a broad-based understanding of the application and consequences of advanced processing techniques, especially as they influence the strength and fracture resistance of high performance structural alloys. While some of the research is specific to certain alloy systems, much of the program constitutes a fundamental study of the deformation and fracture of engineering alloys containing processing-induced defects. Keywords Processing, Fracture mechanisms, VoidPore linking, Low cycle fatigue, Copper niobium alloys.
