The purpose of the workshop was to share current information on back pain issues and bring safety, health, and personnel experts together to find solutions to the problems. The objective as stated by the Executive Committee is To develop policies and programs to support the Presidential and SAFE Army 1990 goals to reduce claims and costs associated with low back injuries. This will include efforts in the areas of education, prevention, and management.
