Abstract:
The T-46A Availability model is an analysis tool to aid in the operational suitability evaluation of the T-46A during initial operational test and evaluation. The model was intended to be used to estimate the fully mission capable FMC rate, the maintenance man-hours per flying hour MMHFH, and the mean downtime per sortie MDTS. The simulation model is a means to use the information gathered during IOTE combined with information on the ATC environment to evaluate how the system will perform in its intended environment. The parameters which can be measured or evaluated during test are task times, failure rates, reliability growth, number and specialty code people doing the maintenance work. The items which are simulated are number of aircraft, number of sorties, weather cancellations, and maintenance personnel available each shift. The model was validated using T-37 inputs and comparing the model output to actual field performance of the T-37. The model is programmed using Simulation Language for Alternative Modeling SLAM. Keywords Operational suitability, Test aircraft.
