This report summarizes our research under AwardContract F49620-85-C-0117 which deals with light scattering measurements of levitated spherical and irregular particles in an Argon laser beam effective wavelength, 514.5 nm of highly transparent silica. The particles range in size from 25-55 microns in diameter. Comparisons between the measurements for scattering angles theta 27 to 162 deg and computed theoretical Mie scattering curves are made. Preliminary results on rotating irregular particles are included.
