Abstract:
A time dependent slow time scale theory is developed for the analysis of high power, pulsed gyrotrons. Calculations are carried out to simulate the operation of a 35 GHz hig voltage gyrotron. Both free running and phase locked oscillator configurations are examined, and the effect of a voltage ripple is shown. Keywords High power Phase locked gyrotron oscillators Intense relativistic electron beams Pulse line accelerator Interacting modes Short pulse length Voltage risetime.
