Abstract:
One reason often given for why cancer survival rates have not improved dramatically in recent years is that many patients do not receive state-of-the-art therapies. The view that the latest therapies are not widely applied has been expressed by many experts in cancer-patient treatment. This briefing report is a preliminary study focusing on the issue of the percentage of patients who were clinically eligible to receive breakthrough treatments but did not. The report contains seven sections, each of which examines the usage patterns for a specific breakthrough.
