Abstract:
Estimation lower bounds on the accuracy of radar measurement of the acceleration of a moving target are derived. These bounds are expressed in terms of the sensor parameters, such as range or Doppler and angle accuracies, track time, data rate PRF, and an a priori estimate of the direction of the target acceleration. Simple scaling laws that allow the reader to trade off these parameters using curves presented in this report are also given. Keywords Acceleration measurement Sensor target geometry Sensor parameters.
