The corrosion behavior of PM mechanically alloyed IN-9052 is compared to AA-6061-T6. Electrochemical techniques are used to study these alloys exposed to 3.5 NaC1. Scanning electron microscopy is used to characterize the morphology of freely corroding samples. A mechanism for pit initiation on IN-9052 is proposed.
