This research effort was focused on three major areas of further research and development of the Multipurpose Arcade Combat Simulator MACS 1 hardware modifications of the MACS M16A1 rifle and its component parts 2 software development for Advanced Rifle Marksmanship ARM skills with the M16A1 rifle and 3 evaluation and refinement of existing MACS Basic Rifle Marksmanship BRM programs. Hardware modifications involved improvements to the light pen, light pen mount, and trigger switch. Development of MACS software programs involved the Light Antitank Weapon LAW, trigger squeeze, and ARM. A major redesign of the BRM diagnostics program was completed.
