Abstract:
The AF32T-9 Large Turbofan Engine, Enclosed Noise Suppressor System T-9 NSS at Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix AZ was surveyed to determine noise levels at 100 meters. With an F101 engine operating at afterburner power the highest measured Overall Sound Level, A-Weighted OASLA was 88.7 dBA. The measured OASLA values exceeded the 77 dBA criterion at all but five of the twenty-four sampling positions.
