This text was written for the purpose of providing active and reserve component personnel an easy reference designed to increase their understanding and appreciation of the organization, functions, and training environment of the Reserve Components. The text discusses the key differences between the active and reserve component training environment and focuses on a description of the organization and functions of the U.S. Army Reserve Components personnel and training system. It also provides information on the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps reserve components and a bibliography listing references the reader can access for further information. This text contains information that should be understood by all Active and Reserve Component personnel and will be of particular value to those members of the Active Component who work with the Reserve Components on a regular basis.
