The purpose of this thesis is to describe a deficiency in current Marine Corps logistic communication investigate various technical solutions, and select an appropriate design to eliminate this deficiency. The intention is not to answer all of the questions related to the topic, but to demonstrate that technology has advanced to a point where it is possible to provide an inexpensive solution to this particularly difficult problem. Although further research will be required, this study indicates that the technology is not only conceivable, practical and efficient, but well within reach. The thrust is to marry a relatively new, but proven, technology with a real world problem and to direct further attention to the effort, so that a practical solution can become a reality. As a result, The Marine Corps could possess a faster, more reliable logistic communication system while deployed and thus have an added advantage during a conflict.
