Pagination or Media Count:
The purpose of this study was to develop a reliable multi-stage repetitive lifting VO2max test to be used as a laboratory tool, which paralleled standard ergometer VO2max testing procedures. A secondary purpose was to compare the repetitive lifting VO2max test responses to those obtained during treadmill, cycle ergometer and arm crank ergometer tests utilizing similar testing procedures. The economy of maximal and submaximal repetitive lifting exercise was examined and compared to that of leg cycling and arm cranking. Keywords oxygen uptake work efficiency exercise.
