Abstract:

This thesis presents the methodology for a detailed vulnerability assessment of a generic aircraft in the conceptualpreliminary design stage. The single hit vulnerability of the aircraft to a 100 grain fragment is determined using the textbook, The Fundamentals of Aircraft Combat Survivability Analysis and Design. The intent of this work is to provide a realistic case study of a vulnerability assessment that can be used by others as a learning tool.
