Continuous fiber composite laminates are know to undergo a substantial amount of complex load-induced damage which can adversely affect component performance. Therefore, it is desirable to develope new models capable of accounting for the effect of damage on materials properties. The objective of this research is to develope an accurate damage model for predicting strength and stiffness of continuous fiber composite media subjected to fatigue or monotonic loading and to verify this model with experimental results obtained from composite specimens of selected geometry and makeup to be described herein.
