Abstract:

The study took a cursory look at the experience in Vietnam with Unmanned Reconnaissance Systems, identified deficiencies, and proposed a generic unmanned system for the next generation of reconnaissance vehicles. The study concluded that the technology exists today to produce an unmanned reconnaissance system that could operate effectively against fixed targets. The UARS could have a daynight under-the-weather capability and provide near-real-time intelligence.
