In the part quarter century, the relative parity of destructive potential held by the super powers has led to a reliance on indirect forms of warfare and the employment of proxies. Most commonly, these forms are grouped at the low end of the spectrum of conflict. Military professionals recognize that decisions concerning the desirability of their involvement in such conflicts are a political responsibility they also recognize that they share this responsibility when they recommend action and by the way in which they prepare themselves to respond when called on to do so. The purpose of this selected bibliography is to provide the student of low intensity conflict a starting point for research. The publications listed are located in the US Army War College Library.
