Abstract:

The tail veins of both rats and mice offer a convenient, easily accessible site for intravenous drug injection as well as the withdrawal of blood samples from rats. This site is also a good choice because of the minimal damage or trauma of the procedure to the animal. This report will discuss methodology for injection and sampling as well as some representative clinical values of samples.
