Abstract:
Six beluga whales were collected for use in research and development programs aimed at exploring the capabilities of different species of marine mammals. Experiences with the whales verified the importance of the early initiation of force-feeding procedures, since newly captured belugas are reluctant to feed on their own when transported to a different environment.
