Abstract:

This document presents the results of a pilot study performed for the Air Force Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory to determine the feasibility of simulating Pasquill Stability Index, wind speed, cloud cover, and wind direction for a diffusion model. The author concluded that the wind speed and direction should be modeled together, but that cloud cover should be modeled separately because of the low correlation between cloud coverwind speed and cloud coverwind direction. Wind speed and cloud cover, according to the author, can be used to simulate a Pasquill Stability Index. Keywords Meteorology Climatology and Frequency distributions.
