Abstract:

The Coastal Engineering Research Centers CERC Field Research Facility FRF is located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, near the village of Duck. The FRF research program provides a means for obtaining high-quality field data, particularly during storms. One of the responsibilities of the FRF research program is the collection, analysis and dissemination of data on local oceanographic and meteorological conditions. Bottom profiles along both sides of the pier and periodic bathymetric surveys are also performed. This summary is intended to provide basic oceanographic and meteorological data as soon as possible after they are obtained. Most of the data are daily observations or the results of preliminary data analysis. In many instances, continuous analog records and more extensive analyses will be made available later by the CERC Coastal Engineering Information and Analysis Center CEIAC.
