This thesis traces the development of religious mission theory, defines its origins and calculates its effects in the life and work of count Nicolaus Ludwig Von Zinzendorf. Count zinzendorfs philosophy and objectives in establishing Moravian settlements in the West Indies, Georgia and southern california are discussed.
