Abstract:

Nitroguanidine is being evaluated by the US Army as a replacement for the nitrocellulose component of certain propellantsmunitions. Guanidine hydrochloride was tested for its potential to produce sensitization via contact with the skin. Testing was performed on male guinea pigs by using the Buehler Dermal Sensitization method. No evidence of dermal sensitization to guanidine hydrochloride was obtained in this study.
