The principal purpose of this thesis was to put that reorganization process into its proper perspective to describe reorganization doctrine where it existed and to identify and define those aspects of reorganization doctrine that do not exist. Objectives are To provide historical examples of combat unit reorganization To identify existing doctrine on the reorganization process at the infantry company level To define the reorganization process at the mechanized infantry company level To identify factors having positive and negative impacts on the combat unit reorganization process To provide reorganization insights to assist force structure analysts and comabt unit trainers in their respective tasks.
