Using a grazing incidence geometry, fluorescence detected surface EXAFS has been employed to investigate the structure of iodine adsorbed on platinum III single crystals. By Fourier analysis of the data a Pt-I distance of 2.46 A is obtained. These results point to the feasibility of employing this technique for the in-situ structural study of electrochemical interfaces. Originator supplied keywords include Electrode.
