Abstract:

This study analyzed the engineer workload factors used in the Force Analysis Simulation of Theater Administrative and Logistics Support FASTALS Construction Model, which calculates the engineer requirements needed to accomplish 23 engineer tasks in support of contingency operations in Europe, Southwest Asia, and Northwest Asia. The study evaluated the engineer manhour effort required to accomplish a unit portion of each of the 23 tasks in each of the three theaters. Based on that evaluation, changes or adjustments to the models workload factors were recommended for each of the models 23 tasks. All the work estimates that were used to support changes or adjustments to the models workload factors are fully documented so they can be reviewed and revised, as necessary.
