This report contains a description of significant accomplishments including 1 the development of a viscoelastic materials selection guide for this research activity 2 the development of an analytic statics model of the joint specimens 3 the design, fabrication and preliminary testing of 15 viscoelastic joint specimens 4 the procurement, fabrication and assembly of most of the test equipment for the test program as well as the development of data reduction computer programs and 5 the development and successful demonstration of a transient pulse method for evaluating energy losses in joints.
