The Military Message experiment MME was an operational evaluation of a computer-aided message handling system. It was conducted at the headquarters of the Commander-in-Chief of the Pacific CINCPAC between May, 1977 and September, 1979. Full experimental use FEU of the system began in February, 1979 and ran through the experiment. The system selected for the evaluation was the Sigma message-handling system. The experiment was designed to evaluate the utility of an automated message handling system in a military environment, evaluate the design of the experimental system, and assess the organizational impact of automated message handling. The results of the evaluation are reported in Volume I. This volume contains the appendices to that report. The appendices consist of tables and figures documenting data collected during the MME. Appendices A and B contain tables dealing with the level of use by hour and user type. Appendix C contains data on instruction use for each user type and D lists tables showing which instruction were used by which user types.
