Radiowave propagation measurements at 420 MHz to 450 MHz were made in the field during October and November 1979, for the purpose of evaluating the performance of a single link of the Armys Position Location and reporting System PLRS over short ground-to-ground communication paths obstructed by foliage and terrain. Tests were conducted under a variety of conditions set by variables that included antenna height, path length, foliage situation, terrain-obstacle height, and frequency channel. Keywords include PLRS Digital communications Propagation measurements Foliage loss and Diffraction loss.
