T-Butyldimethylsilyl Derivatives of Some Alkylphosphonic and Alkyl Methylphosphonic Acids. Part 1. Gas Chromatographic/Mass Spectrometric Studies,
DEFENCE RESEARCH ESTABLISHMENT OTTAWA (ONTARIO)
Pagination or Media Count:
Electron impact mass spectra have been generated for t-butyldimethylsilyl derivatives of several alkyl methylphosphonic, alkylphosphonic and halogen-substituted alkylphosphonic acids. In all cases, fragmentation is limited to a few abundant ions indicating that improved quantitation of this class of compounds, essential for verification of chemical arms agreements, will be possible by gas chromatographicmass spectrometric means using these derivatives. Some fragmentation mechanisms are suggested to account for the major ions of the spectra.
