Digital Troposcatter Performance Model: Software Documentation.
Rept. for Jun 80-Nov 83,
SIGNATRON INC LEXINGTON MA
Pagination or Media Count:
The software program for the analysis and evaluation of digital troposcatter communication links is described. The computer program TROPO is intended to provide an accurate prediction model of the troposcatter andor diffraction propagation path at frequencies between 100 MHz and 10 GHz for all types of diversity receiver configurations used in the DCS, and the prediction of the performance of the MD-918 and ANTRC-170 troposcatter modems. The program can also evaluate the performance of other modems if a performance prediction model is provided by the user. TROPO takes into account a number of practical factors such as the effects of RF interference, RF bandwidth constraints, actual diversity antenna geometry, climate and atmospheric characteristics. This document describes the various routines and sub-programs that are used to perform the troposcatter and diffraction path loss, multipath and digital troposcatter link performance calculations. Originator-Supplied keywords include Troposcatter, Diffraction, MD-918 Modem, ANTRC-170, Propagation Prediction, Multipath Prediction, Error Rate Prediction, and Link Analysis.
