Abstract:

This report provides a summary of the Armys Manufacturing Methods and Technology Program directed toward computer-aided design CADcomputer aided manufacturing CAM. The report describes individual work efforts covering the period FY 80 through FY 86 and gives necessary information to determine the direction, application and status of each effort. These efforts were selected from the MMT program as being CADCAM activities by the Chairman of the Manufacturing Technology Advisory Group CADCAM Subcommittee. Also, a specific system technology area was selected for each effort. In this report, the efforts are organized in the following sections Architecture Fabrication Data BaseData Automation CADCAM Interaction Planning and Group Technology Manufacturing control Assembly Simulation, Modeling, and Operations Research Materials Handling and Storage Test, Inspection and Evaluation and Continuous Flow Processes. An analysis of the CADCAM program FY 80-84 is also provided.
