Abstract:

This technical note explains an automated questionnaire administration technique that was developed to reduce questionnaire administration time and data reduction time and errors, and to increase the amount of useful information obtained from subjective questioning. The technique significantly reduced the number of man-hours required to administer questionnaires and the number and types of errors incurred during administration and analyses. Instant, real-time response analyses allowed administrators to identify questionnaire items that needed deeper discussion and and to ask respondents to elaborate as a group, when necessary.
