Abstract:

This report is an assessment of the studies of the Washington Departments of Fisheries and Game on the effects of the Wynoochee River dam, as well as an analysis of other pertinent data relating to the decline of fish runs in that river. The purpose is not to establish or even suggest what the numerical values for mitigation should be. These deliberations are the business of the two State agencies and the Corps. It was my purpose, as requested by the Corps, to review the available biological data relating to actual or potential declines in fish runs, and clarify certain aspects so that a rapid understanding on extent of fish loss can be agreed upon and speedy taken for replacement or enhancement.
