This predictive validation study was conducted to examine the effectiveness of Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery ASVAB Forms 8, 9, and 10, used since October 1980 for selection and classification of enlisted personnel. Bivariate and multiple correlation coefficients between the ASVAB predictors--individual tests, the Armed Forces Qualification Test AFQT, and the Navy school selector composites--were computed for 47 A and 53 Basic Electricity and Electronics BEE school samples. Expectancy tables were constructed for the 54 schools with sufficient data. In general, the operational Navy composites predicted technical school performance reasonably well. However, the analyses identified two schools for which a change in composite would substantially improve prediction of school performance.
