Multilevel adaptive techniques are powerful methods for solving many types of problems in computational physics. In his analysis of multilevel methods for application to elliptic boundary-value problems, Douglas found a particularly efficient algorithm for their solution. This report describes a vectorized, finite-difference implementation of his algorithm suitable for use in large-scale computations.
