In conscious rate and primates, bolus infusion of the entire efficacious dose of ATP-MgCl2 transiently decrease mean blood pressure but there were no long term side effects and there were no mortalities. Moreover, daily administration of the entire efficacious dose of ATP-MgCl2 for a period of three months in rats did not produce any mortality or adverse side effects. ATP-MgCl2 was approved for clinical studies by the Food and Drug Administration of the U.S. Armys and our Human Investigation Committee.
