This document contains The Army Study Program TSAP for Fiscal Year 85. The document describes the relationship of the annual study program to the goals of the US Army, the characteristics of the studies as contained in the CSAMSS data base, and a comparison of the FY 85 study program with the FY 84 study program. The FY 85 Army Study Program data were collected from agencies and commands. The data were tabulated by computer and statistically analyzed. This document contains the summarized data interpretation of the results. The Study Program data are presented in several dimensions which should be of interest to Army commanders, managers, and sponsors of the study program. These include Total Army Goals, resource levels, combat application, performance method, and sponsors. Salient results of the data assessments are showed The FY 85 Army Study Program addresses all Army Goals with 147 studies addressing the Readiness Goal which is this years directed focus. Approximately 90 percent of the program will be accomplished using the Armys in-house analysis agencies and elements. Approximately 24 percent of the studies and 35 percent of the study resources are devoted to the Combat function of the Army. Combat Support and Combat Service Support functions receive 18 and 24 percent of the study resources respectively.
