The acute oral toxicity of 4-nitrophenyl monochloromethyl phenyl phosphinate was determined in male, albino, Sprague-Dawley rats by using the oral gavage dose method. LD1, LD50, and LD95 with the 95 confidence limit were calculated by probit analysis. The LD50 was 203 mgkg with the 95 confidence limit 142 mgkg, 292 mgkg. The formulation falls in the very toxic range.
