Abstract:

The theme of this conference is increased readiness through training. Certainly, meeting this challenge becomes more difficult year by year as our weapon systems become more capable and also more complex. Multi-million dollar weapon systems demand the ultimate in training to ensure that crews are ready to operate them at their maximum effectiveness. Otherwise, we may have wasted valuable dollars buying increased capability that, for the lack of training, we cannot use effectively. This, then, is our readiness through training challenge. The purpose of these conferences is to promote the interchange of information between government and industry. It is only when industry thoroughly understands the government need and government thoroughly understands industrys capability that we can work together and function effectively as a team.
