The main purpose of this report is to identify those organizations which facilitate trade and development in the international economy, and to discuss the current integration of these organizations into the overall international economy. The identification process results in a description of the international economy, emphasizing the current integration of institutions and functions. This report considers the influence of major organizations such as the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank Group, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the various United Nations programs on both economic development and international finance. Additionally, the influences of the General Agreements on tariffs and trade, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and various regional cooperative organizations are linked to the trade and development functions. The result of charting these various influences is a composite organizational diagram which graphically depicts these interrelationships. Further, some analysis of the dynamic nature of this system is provided.
