American Forces Radio and Television Service - Europe: Survey of Audience Behaviors and Opinions

Surveys concerning American Forces Network - Europe audience viewing and listening behaviors and opinions were mailed back by over 2,500 military members, DOD civilians, and their dependents. Analyses performed to determine audience behavior revealed that peak viewing times for all ranks, DOD civilians and dependents were 6 to 10 P.M. all days with 7 to 9 P.M. as the optimum time period for airing command messages. Peak listening times were 6 to 8 A.M. weekdays for militaryDOD civilians and 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. weekdays for dependents. Other results describe audience opinions toward and behavior toward both general and specific programming, as well as opinions toward possible changes in programming.
